We have a couple of cool cats under our care who need forever homes - read on for details!
Grizzly
Grizzly is a sweet stray who wandered into my yard in June a severely injured jaw after suffering blunt force trauma to his face (check out his before photo, below). Despite the pain he was in when we first took him in, we could tell that he was a fighter and adventurer at heart and wouldn't let his injury stop him from trying to climb every surface and eat any food he could find.
before surgery
We took Grizzly to about a million vets, and in late June he received surgery to remove most of his teeth, including all of his canines which had been damaged in the fall, and to move his jaw back into the socket. Needless to say, surgery didn't slow Grizzly down one bit - he spent his time in the recovery room attempting to escape and quickly ate his dinner as soon as we got home. He doesn't seem to notice that he's missing most of his teeth and even enjoys dry food as a snack.
Now that he's fully recovered and receiving his vaccinations, Grizzly's ready to retire to a life indoors. He's neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, about four years old and a generally low-key guy who enjoys hanging out around people. He's a special guy and needs a special adopter to help him adjust to living indoors again. If you're interested in adopting Grizzly, email us!
Napoleon
Found dirty and disheveled near an industrial area, handsome, sleek Napoleon quickly took up the role of housecat once he was safely indoors. And although he has a super serious look, it turns out this boy is a real sweetheart!
You’d never know to look at him now that he ever spent any time outside. Napoleon is friendly and respectful with people as well as with other cats, and his foster says that he’s always curious about what you’re up to. He’ll come to sit in your lap if you ask him, and he likes to indulge in the comforts of indoor life by lounging around like the happiest of cozy cats. He enjoys playing with toys—but, his foster adds, he’s still confused why he can’t defeat them! In short, Napoleon is an all-around pleasant and low-key cat, perfect for any home.
Napoleon is approximately 2 years old, neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, and up to date on vaccines. If you’d like to schedule a meet and greet, contact Tara Green at catsbkny@gmail.com!
